BLOOM SCHOOL RESIDENCY

Welcome to Bloom School Residency!

Over the course of 4 days, our attendees will work personally with Becky of Blush & Bloom and learn directly from her 25 years in the floral industry. Having experienced major success in weddings in Toronto, Ontario and further afield for over a decade, Becky will share an open dialogue with an intimate group in this one-of-a-kind masterclass.

Join us for 4 immersive days focused on executing an entire dreamy wedding from start to finish for real clients. We’ll be honing in on a vibrant and modern design style while giving our attendees the opportunity to experience the entire creative process.

We’ll begin with the curated design created by the wedding planner and clients, presented to Blush and Bloom upon our first consultation.

Picture a colourful and unique, unconventional wedding for the coolest couple with fabulous taste - and so much trust in their Vendor team.

It’s our job to fit the design brief, cater to the client’s expectations and nuances, and execute the best wedding florals to bring it all together.

This program is designed for several backgrounds of participants - ranging from florists who are looking to specialize and upgrade their existing floral skills while focusing on wedding design, and those who are looking to break into the industry of weddings and are unsure where to start and in need of a bit more hands-on practice.

This experience will also provide a unique platform for anyone looking to strengthen their client relation skills and how to create a full-concept design from the initial stages.

In this fast-paced course, our guests will each design a bridal bouquet, focus on a modern approach to boutonnieres + corsages, and create a full tablescape of florals to be beautifully styled with a selection of on-trend rentals from our real-life suppliers and design a group installation made for a playful, laid-back couple.

This course will cover full instruction in the above areas with detailed demonstrations using colorful and hand-selected floral varieties that we all love and dream about!

In addition, Becky will offer additional “mini demos” as they arise in each lesson - this is often the fun part when working with trusting, non-traditional clients who trust the pros to make suggestions!

We will also dive into the importance of “Big Picturing” within event design and partnering with planning agencies and designers in the process. This includes an overview of writing proposals, client contracts, time management within event setup, ordering, and pricing.

This in-depth course encourages attendees to ask questions and have group discussions with Becky in an intimate setting. We will also provide printed resources for the attendees to keep and reference throughout their floral journey.

Our time together will conclude on Day 4, aka the Wedding Day where our creations designed in the time we’ve spent together will finally be placed and staged for the big reveal to our clients. Come along with our team to experience a full day of setup for a real wedding, complete with load in and out, time- sensitive deadlines and behind the scenes realities of executing full scale weddings.

The workshop includes a professional photoshoot of our creations, and all attendees will receive portfolio-worthy images following the class.
